The Philosophy Behind
Ghost Note Tattoo
At Ghost Note, we create classics in a way that’s safe, fun, and collaborative, with experts you can trust and a soundtrack like no other. Here’s how:
Any professional tattooer worth their salt has one responsibility to their clients above all: to provide a safe, comfortable, and clean environment, free from threats to their clients’ health. To meet this standard, our tattoo artists are licensed by the NYC Department of Health, but it only starts there. At Ghost Note we take every extra precaution, including (but not limited to) keeping work areas free of clutter that could collect dirt over time, using purified water (never tap) for the entire tattoo process, tattooing with single-use disposable needles alongside tubes that are cleaned and autoclaved in accordance with modern techniques and standards.
Once everything is clean and comfortable, we can move on to the next most important part: the art. With over 16 years of experience professionally tattooing and a lifetime of drawing, Ron Mor (Ghost Note founder) has pushed his craft through pursuing art as both an academic and intellectual pursuit. With thousands and thousands of hours under his belt, Ron is proud to offer expert artistic skills to his clients.Never content to trace another artist or lean on flash references, Ron custom designs every tattoo, hand drawing until it’s perfect. Whether it’s a custom piece or a classic tattoo format, Ron strives for every tattoo to be as unique as the client it lives on.
Once the art is final, we take our final and most fun step. Ron values the energy of a space as much as the artistry of his craft, so you can expect a clean and uncluttered vibe where artist and client can truly collaborate together. And music! For Ron, the music is the most important part. Whether it’s something calm to soothe you or a well-known classic to carry you away, at Ghost Note, you’ll not only walk away with a new favorite piece of art, but likely a new favorite piece of music as well.
Which brings us to the name: Why “Ghost Note”? Of course, it goes back to music. A “ghost note” is a musical term for the notes a drummer plays between the beats written in their music. Not easy to write down, they’re the notes that a drummer feels, the little touches that add a certain je ne sais quoi to the music. Applied to Ron’s art, this is how his tattoos get taken to the next level—the subtle details, the little touches, and the master craft that hides in plain sight to create something not just adequate, but virtuosic.
We can’t wait to create a classic with you.
